Sakarya University has been monitoring carbon emissions by measuring them regularly since 2010. As of 2020, the Responsible University has preferred the use of low-carbon energy and renewable energy resources in order to reduce carbon emissions in line with its policy and relevant strategic objectives. The university provides energy production through solar energy and wind energy. In addition, the source used for heating purposes is natural gas.
