Student Representation

Sakarya University Student Senate was established by the decision of the University Senate on January 14, 2016, during meeting number 459. Our university places great importance on student participation in decision-making and governance processes. In line with the university's student-centered approach, the Student Senate aims to highlight student contributions for the institution’s healthier development.

Sakarya University Student Senate is composed of representatives selected from various groups to ensure active student involvement in university governance. The Senate consists of 44 members, including representatives from the Student Council, student clubs, international students, academically successful students, and students with disabilities. While the President of the Student Council and faculty representatives are considered natural members, the other members are selected based on specific criteria. This structure emphasizes diversity and inclusiveness in student representation. In addition to contributing to university development, the Senate also plays an active role in representing student interests, acting as a bridge between students and the university administration, organizing student activities, and supporting other student-related functions.

Sakarya University Student Senate Directive outlines the procedures and principles regarding the establishment and operation of the Sakarya University Student Senate. It also includes details about the member selection process. You can access the Student Senate directive via the link.
