Access to Health Services

Access to Physical Health-Care Services and Health Education at Sakarya University

Sakarya University provides a comprehensive and integrated system ensuring access to physical health-care services, supported by health information and education programmes for all students and staff.

Access to Physical Health-Care Services

The University delivers primary healthcare services through its Mediko-Social Center, which provides accessible on-campus medical support, guidance and preventive care services for the university community.

Healthcare provision is further strengthened through the University’s academic and clinical infrastructure. The Faculty of Dentistry provides oral and dental health services, including diagnosis, treatment and preventive care.

Sakarya University also operates in integration with the Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital, where academic staff actively contribute to clinical services. This ensures access to advanced medical diagnosis, treatment and specialist healthcare services when required.

In addition, the University contributes to healthcare capacity through the Vocational School of Health Services, which provides applied training in areas such as first and emergency aid, anesthesia, physiotherapy, elderly care and medical laboratory services, supporting the delivery of practical health services.

Health Information and Education Services

In addition to direct healthcare provision, Sakarya University actively delivers health information and education services to promote awareness and preventive healthcare.

Through academic units such as the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University supports education on health promotion, disease prevention and community health at the levels of individuals, families and society.

Health-related seminars, training programmes and awareness activities are regularly organized, covering topics such as healthy living, public health, preventive care and wellbeing. These activities aim to improve health literacy and support informed decision-making across the university community.

Student Health and Wellbeing Services

In addition to physical healthcare and health education services, Sakarya University adopts a holistic approach to student wellbeing by integrating psychological and career counselling support. Through the Career Development Coordination Office, students have access to career psychological counselling services that support self-awareness, decision-making and career planning processes. Scientific assessment tools, including personality, interest and ability inventories, are applied to help students identify their strengths and suitable career paths. Furthermore, practical employability services such as CV preparation, interview simulations and individual mentoring are provided. These services contribute to students’ psychological wellbeing and support their transition to professional life.
