Academics and researchers at Sakarya University are conducting numerous policy-oriented studies. The call for Innovative Solutions in Social and Humanities (3005) by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBITAK) focuses particularly on developing public policy solutions and models aimed directly at societal issues in collaboration with public institutions, civil society organizations, and business actors. Within the scope of these calls, Sakarya University is leading several projects. For example, the project titled "Determining the Impact of Heat Waves on Public Health Using Climatological Methods and Establishing the Scientific Basis for Developing Climate Adaptation Strategies in Public Health" is being conducted in collaboration with the Sakarya Health Directorate. This project identifies areas within Sakarya where the population aged 65 and older may be vulnerable to heat waves through a spatial database within Geographic Information Systems. It also maps areas that could be at risk from future heat waves based on climate projections, contributes scientifically to developing adaptation strategies against the effects of climate change, and supports the development of public health policies (URL 3). Other projects focus on policy development in collaboration with various institutions and organizations in areas such as education, smart cities, disaster management, and migration (URL 4, URL 5,URL 6).
