Lifelong Learning Criteria

The physical and digital resources of Sakarya University Libraries, which have rich information resources and a capacity of 1300 people, and the devices in all libraries are accessible to the public (URL 1). The library unit organizes public training on the use of resources (URL 2). All faculties, departments, curricula, course contents and course materials added by faculty members can be accessed on our university's education information system website (URL 3). All materials on this site are available for public use (URL 4; URL 5). Additionally, Sakarya University Continuing Education Application and Research Center (SAÜSEM) aims to provide world-class education in areas other than associate, undergraduate and graduate education programs at Sakarya University; It offers educational activities in social, cultural, scientific, economic and technological fields. It is also responsible for opening continuing education programs within the framework of lifelong education and presenting its knowledge, accumulation and experience to the people of the region in individual and institutional dimensions. While providing education, it is obliged to maintain the quality and standards of Sakarya University in all its activities while combining theoretical education with practical training and aiming to provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills (URL 6; URL 7).

Society Activities

In the strategic plan of the university, all units have goals to organize scientific activities for the society, and practices are carried out in this direction (URL 8; URL 9). At Sakarya University, public events such as public trainings, seminars and social education events are organized by academic and administrative units. The university's congress center and general purpose halls are used for events organized by the university, as well as hosting similar events of different institutions  (URL 10).

Vocational Training Activities

Sakarya University provides access to educational resources for those who do not study at the university by providing training within the scope of lifelong education services, organizing public events and sharing the university's information resources with the public. Within the scope of the training carried out by Sakarya University Continuing Education Center (SAÜSEM) and some units such as Sakarya University Critical Infrastructures National Testbed Center (CENTER SAU), there are various trainings such as vocational training, technical training and certificate training, as well as short courses for people who do not go to university (URL 11).

 

Educational Outreach Activities

At Sakarya University, social aid activities for education outside the campus are carried out by student communities established for social aid and education purposes. Some of these activities carried out within the scope of social contribution activities. These include aid to surrounding villages, financial aid, educational material aid, theater performances for students, games and activities for special education students, establishment of a library, food aid, etc. Sakarya University supports communities financially and by providing the tools they need.
