Sakarya University conducts projects aimed at documenting and/or preserving intangible cultural heritage, such as local folklore, traditions, language, and knowledge. For example, within this scope, the "Sakarya City Memory Project," led by Sakarya University's SESAM (Research Center for Political and Social Studies), aims to document and pass on Sakarya’s cultural memory to future generations. The Sakarya City Memory Project activities are carried out at the SESAM office located within the Faculty of Political Science and at the office located within the Central Library.

Additionally, through the "From Soil to Table: Sakarya Cuisine" project, conducted in collaboration with the university's faculty members and the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, forgotten regional dishes have been documented and later transformed into an award-winning book. Furthermore, many performances and events are organized at Sakarya University to promote cultural heritage from both local and international backgrounds. Art groups and student clubs at Sakarya University organize performances, exhibitions, and seminars related to our local cultural heritage.
