Applications for Encouraging Women in Subjects Where They are Underrepresented
With the support of the Sakarya University Women's Studies Application and Research Center, studies are carried out to identify areas where women are a minority and to increase the orientation of women in these areas (URL1; URL2; URL3; URL4; URL5).
Additionally, the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has implemented a quota policy that aims to increase access to higher education for women over the age of 34 and to provide equal opportunities in education with a regulation starting from 2023. This special quota is a special quota reserved for associate and undergraduate programs that accept students through central placement at state universities. In this context, Sakarya University has reserved special quotas for women aged 34 and over in various programs in the 2023 Higher Education Institutions (YKS) preferences (URL6).
