Sakarya University works to inform the public about energy efficiency and clean energy. Some of these studies are seminars and trainings held within the university and open to the public. In addition, our student communities also carry out activities to inform the public about energy efficiency and savings. Many seminars, press conferences and events were held to inform the public about the importance of using clean energy sources for clean air. Faculty members have academic studies on the sources of air pollution and methods to prevent them.
Sakarya University supports its 100% renewable energy commitment. Information panels, seminars and conferences on renewable energy resources are organized at Sakarya University. In addition, research centers are supported with new devices and financial resources to conduct studies in the field of renewable energy resources. There is guidance and support provided by the scientific research projects coordinator for students and faculty members to carry out R&D studies in the field of renewable energy. Sakarya University shows the importance it attaches to the issue of climate change in every field and participates in climate change projects. In this context, Sakarya University participated in the Climate Change Adaptation Project.
One of the areas where Sakarya University's R&D centers and research teams are strongest is renewable energy resources. The research and development studies of some research centers and academic units within the university are directly focused on the development of relevant technologies and innovations in the fields of energy efficiency, clean and renewable energy. Among these centers, especially; Research and Development Application and Research Center and Sakarya Innovation Center are the centers where studies in this field are carried out. In addition, Sakarya University Advanced Technologies Application Community (SAİTEM), which is a technology application community consisting entirely of volunteer students, aims to carry out innovative projects in various technology fields, especially alternative energies, and creates an environment for the training of qualified individuals, actively carries out activities within the university. Projects carried out within SAİTEM; Sakarya Solar Car (SAGUAR), Sakarya Hydro Mobile (SAHIMO), Sakarya Solar Boat (SATEK), Sakarya University Electric Car (EVRİM), Sakarya Low Altitude Test Satellite (SATU).

Sakarya University prepares local, regional, national and global reports on clean energy and energy efficiency and shares its reports with decision makers. Our faculty members are involved in local and regional strategy development policies and decision-making processes. Additionally, regional, national and global projects and publications are produced.

There are companies and entrepreneurs who conduct research and produce projects on energy efficiency in the incubation center at Sakarya University and Teknokent. Our university supports these entrepreneurs financially and with project mentoring programs. Material, laboratory or research support is provided for the project needs of companies and entrepreneurs.
