Proportion Of Recycled Waste

Sakarya University implements a comprehensive waste management strategy under its Zero Waste Policy, focusing on maximizing recycling efforts. The management of recyclable waste is conducted as follows:

1. Waste Segregation and Weighing: The campus uses a three-compartment waste separation system, collecting plastic, glass, metal, paper, and domestic waste separately. All collected waste types are weighed and recorded regularly for tracking purposes.
2. Ministry System Registration: The weighed and segregated waste is registered in the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change’s Zero Waste System (MOTAT). This system ensures transparent monitoring of the quantity and management of recyclable waste.
3. Delivery of Recyclable Waste: The segregated recyclable waste is delivered to licensed recycling companies, contributing to the university’s sustainability goals and efficient resource management.
